Laura Van Snick, model in the world of fashion and her passion for photography.

Throughout these times of the COVD-19 crisis and the associated lockdown, we ask different artists, models, photographers and designers what inspires or passionates them in their work. And how this guides them through this crisis.

Today we give the floor to LAURA VAN SNICK, model in the world of fashion:

Passionate by photography, model, graphic designer and photographer, Laura van Snick, had her photographed by her boyfriend in her apartment during this time of isolation, elegantly wearing a silk embroidered dress from our spring-summer 2020 collection.

Laura explains to us that she first started modelling whilst studying graphic design, which she continued over the years and even took up as a fulltime job for a while.
Laura: “What I truly love about modelling is how it brings me in touch with creatives of all kinds, which is inspiring for my own work. Unfortunately, the industry’s become quite saturated with a lot of agencies and models, so it became increasingly difficult for me to find enough work. Besides, fashion works in seasons, so there were times where I wouldn’t work for weeks.

So I started working closely with my father, visual artist Philippe Van Snick, to get a taste of the different fields that graphic design encapsulates.
I eventually found the drive I was looking for in graphic design in photography.
The confrontation between these different professional atmospheres makes you realise what you wish for and how you want to live, your dreams, your frustrations, your qualities, your flaws – essentially, the things you hate about one job and love about the other.”
